Swedish massage

Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. If it’s your first time at the spa or you don’t get massage very often, Swedish massage is the perfect massage for you. Swedish massage and other types of therapeutic massage are performed by trained, licensed massage therapists. A Swedish massage can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on the therapist’s personal style and what he or she wants to achieve. In all Swedish massage, the therapist lubricates the skin with massage oil and performs various massage strokes. These movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle “knots” or adhered tissues, called adhesions. Swedish massage promotes relaxation, among other health benefits.

Back and shoulders massage

Our back and shoulders are very often the parts of the body where we tend to accumulate muscular tension. Sedentary occupations, postural problems, stress, as well as hard physical work, can all contribute to excessive build-up of soreness and pain in this area of the body. A Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage will loosen the muscles in the back and shoulders where tension exists. Allowing your body to unwind during a Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage will get rid of stiffness and promote deep relaxation. By speeding up circulation over a wide area of the body, more fresh, oxygenated blood will nourish the tissues, relieving aches and aiding tissue recovery and repair.

Relaxation massage aromotherapy

Relaxation massage is essentially the same as a gentle Swedish massage that uses smooth, gliding strokes. The primary purpose will be to help you relax, and the massage therapist will probably move at a slower pace and use light pressure. During a relaxation massage there is less emphasis on working out serious adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue and the therapist won’t push your pain limits in order to get the muscle to release. Sometimes people even fall asleep during a relaxation massage. There are still substantial health benefits to a relaxation massage, including calming the nervous system, promoting a sense of well-being, improving blood circulation and stimulating the body’s lymphatic system, which carries away waste products.

Hot stone massage

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones, either as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly. Watch a video of a hot stone massage.

Hands and feet massage

Your hands and feet do almost all the manual work you perform each day. Regular care of them is essential. Hand massage is a luxurious experience for which your hands will thank you. Combined with foot massage, this is the perfect way to reward your hard-worked limbs.
